Recovering Anorexic To Join The Army…?

So I have had mental health issues (anorexia, self harm anxiety and depression) and was in hospital for a year and a half in total (2 admissions) was let out like 2 weeks 2 days before my 18th birthday.
Anyway I’m aiming to join the army to do mental health nursing, after I do a 3 or 4 year degree at uni. I still have a year to go on the current course I’m doing so plenty of time. I spoke to the army careers advisor and he said I have to be 3 years clear of mental health and 4 years clear for asthma and I can then apply. So basically by the time I have finished my university degree I would be clear from both mental health and asthma. (I was never a severe asthmatic only on the brown inhaler 4 puffs a day and the blue one when needed)
I know what the training involves, the application process and what the job involves, I’ve spoken to an advisor and went to a presentation held there. I still see an eating disorder nurse and probably will do till I go to university and I am under a CPN (community psychiatric nurse and team) I also see a psychiatrist every 6 months.
I’m recovering from anorexia and although I still struggle I’m doing well, I’m not at a healthy weight yet but I’m better than I have been for quite a long time. (I’ve stuggled with anorexia since I was 7 when I was first diagnosed)
I was wondering they know I have had mental health issues but should I tell them I was in hospital for it? Like I said I was under 18 and still a ‘child’ could that make a difference? any opinions? (I’m 18, 19 at the end of June)
thanks to any answers :)

College Choice Question?

I’ve grown up in a really affluent community, and am graduating from an esteemed public high school in the suburbs of Chicago.
I got a bit of a late start on my academic sophistication, but I would consider myself one of the upper tier students when it comes to comparison. No need for stats on that. I’m lucky to hold my class position for as competitive as my school is.
I was the President of organizations that interested me. I’ve risen falling school community programs back on their feet. I’m an Eagle Scout. I’ve volunteered countless hours of my time. I’ve won numerous academic and community recognition awards. I’ve taken part in various jobs and internships, and even won distinction awards for my work and contributions in those jobs. AP coursework is all I take. I’m an avid cross country runner- member of a state qualifying team, even. If nothing else, I’m Hispanic, too.
After recognizing all of these wonderful things, I was sure that I’d get into a pretty elite college. My intent for doing all those things, and more thing I didn’t mention, was not to get into elite universities. I love what I do/did. However, I was rejected from Yale, Brown, Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill, Tulane, and wait listed at UMichigan-Ann Arbor and Wesleyan University. My safety school was the University of Wisconsin-Madison, but financial aid was terrible, and if I were to go, I’d be in more debt than I’d ever like to be for an undergrad degree.
This leaves me with committing to the University of Iowa. I never thought, upon applying, that I would actually be going there. The main reasons why I committed was that I am basically getting a full ride from scholarships they offered me, I was admitted into their honors program upon applying, and I’ve been there enough to feel comfortable.
The real issue burning inside me was that I had such high aspirations to go to an elite university. Not just for the “brand” they have, but gosh darnit, I feel like I belong in one. I worked so hard, and I’m going to Iowa. All of the schools I was rejected from, for whatever reason, were truly perfect fits for me. I saw myself going to any one of them, and absolutely loving it and fitting right in. But now I’m going three hours from home into an isolated town to a university that exists because of an exchange for locations of the state’s capital.
I feel really bad about this, and am really hoping to transfer considering financial aid works out. But, at the same time, I feel so incredibly blessed and lucky to be attending a Big Ten school for almost free, getting a degree and heading into grad/med school debt free after four years, and overall continuing my education. It’s hard to think on terms like that when I was planning to go to Duke or Brown, but at the same time, I don’t want to be unthankful for what has been placed in front of me. It’s just that sick twist in my stomach that makes me feel like I got the worst of luck for where I belong.
Any advice/lifters on the matter? I really, really appreciate it. I think about this every day.

Is Cornell University Of Veterinary Medicine A Pet Friendly College?

I’m thinking about colleges, and I would love to be a vet. I have an amazingly strong passion for animals. I want the best, but I also don’t want to leave my English bulldog behind. Can I bring her to live with me in the dorm, or do I need to get my own apartment?

What Should India And Sub-saharan African Countries Do To Combat Extreme Poverty And Overpopulation?

This some context for the question, if you don’t know about what the problem/what I am asking in the question:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/jul/14/poverty-india-africa-oxford

There are more poor people in eight states of India than in the 26 countries of sub-Saharan Africa, a study reveals today. More than 410 million people live in poverty in the Indian states, including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, researchers at Oxford University found. The “intensity” of the poverty in parts of India is equal to, if not worse than, that in Africa. When the vast central Indian Madhya Pradesh state, which has a population of 70 million, was compared with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the war-racked African state of 62 million inhabitants, the two were found to have near-identical levels of poverty.

Poll: Princeton University Or University Of Southern California?

For what? If we are talking football, then clearly USC, especially since Princeton is not a Division I football school. But if you’re talking academics, then clearly Princeton.

How To Help My Boyfriend Decide What To Do?

I’ll make this as short as possible. My boyfriend just finished his first year at university, he didn’t do so well; he loved the social aspect but, hated the school. He wants to stay home next year and go to a local college, but he feels obligated to go back to that school because he is supppsed to be renting a house with his friends and doesn’t know how to break the news to them. This is stressing me out! I want him to make the right decision not just follow his friends. What to do?

What Branch Of The Military Should I Join?

I will be graduating with a degree in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh next year, and I was hoping to join a branch of the military and try to be an officer. What branch do you think would be best? Preferably one where I travel quite a bit, but it would still be challenging. Your personal experiences would also be helpful.

How To Prepare A Piece For An Art Show, Bit Of A Dilemma?

I’m going to be participating in an art show at my university. I’m submitting two pieces (one is 12×16, though it can be cut smaller, and the other is 9×12 and cannot be cut smaller), both on watercolor paper, and they have to be framed/otherwise prepared for hanging at the show.
Money is tight for me right now. I have to pay to submit the pieces, and I really don’t want to have to pay for frames as well (I haven’t found a frame under $20 yet, and I would need two, plus a matte for each, plus the submission fee). I was just wondering if there were any other ways to prepare a piece for a gallery. I’m pretty new to displaying my work, to be honest, so there’s a lot I don’t know.
Could I just mount the pieces on black matte board and leave it at that? I would prefer the way that looks, anyway. And how would I hang it, if I did it this way?
If there are any other possibilities that would be cost effective, totally let me know! I hate that I have to watch my money on this when I would love to present my art in the classiest way possible, but I also want to be able to buy food for myself. Y’know.

Unix File System–how To Calculate The Space Required For A File Of A Certain Length?

I’m looking at practice problems at random university sites for my final…specifically, this one for this problem:http://users.soe.ucsc.edu/~sbrandt/cours…
Suppose that you have a UNIX file system where the disk block size is 1kB, and an inode takes 128 bytes. Disk addresses take 32 bits, and the inode contains space for 64 bytes of data (a recent optimization), 8 direct addresses, one indirect, one double-indirect and one triple- indirect (the rest of the space in the inode is taken up with other information such as ownership and protection). An index block is the same size as a disk block. How much space (including overhead) do files that are: a) one (1) byte long, b) 1025 bytes long, c) 65536 (64KB) bytes long, and d) 1048576 (1MB) bytes long require?
Hint: it may help if you draw a picture of how inodes are used to locate the blocks making up a file.
I’m having trouble understanding the solution for part c. I understand that 1 inode is needed, but I’m confused with how 8 data blocks, 1 index block, and an extra 56 data blocks are needed.
What I’ve done is subtract 65536 bytes by 64 bytes, and it leaves me with 65472 bytes remaining. That’s all I’ve got.
