Is A Weighted Gpa Of 4.14 Bad?

By Top University Posted in: Dartmouth College

Im a sophomore in high school with a weighted GPA of 4.14 and unweighted of 2.86. Last year i basically gave up on school and didnt care if i got a C or D. This year I am trying my best and getting all Bs and 3 As, I know still not the best but im getting there! I take all GT classes and 1 AP class, nexxt year i am taking 5 APs and 1 Honor (1 of the AP classes is 2 hours that why I have 6 classes not 7). I play Tennis,Badminton, and Track. Im in Psych club, math honor society, steering committee, and mock trial :D ! So I guess essentially im asking 2 questions. Is a weighted GPA of 4.14 bad? AND Can i get into a good college with my gpa and extra curricular activities?(such as dartmouth or cornell?.. I know aiming high lol)

Ok here’s the thing. When you apply to college, your GPA gets unweighted. The weights are solely for class ranking purposes only. But the rankings are very important factors in college admissions anyway, so in a way, that is pretty good. But just know that your actual GPA is not that high.
But you’re a sophomore, you still got time, and you seem to be on the right track.
