What other things does Northwestern look for?

Well as a freshman you’re good to go so far. Im a sophomore at Northwestern so i can tell you a few things you can improve on!
first of all, your unweighted gpa matters. make sure you are around the top ten in your class ( not top 10%, top 10 people in your class).
hold more leadership positions in your extracurriculars. leadership is important. it doesnt really matter how many clubs you’re in if you arent a significant role in them.
take as many AP classes as you can, and do well in them!
Do you have any music/talents/sports you excel at? it helps to be recognized at least on a state level to show that you’re good at something besides school.
try to clock in a lot of volunteer work. i went in with about 500 if i remember right.
its never too early to start prepping for SAT’s. Most of my friends have gotten around 2200 more or less.
good luck!
